It seems appropriate that on this day when the world celebrates love, we talk about commitment and promises. Any successful relationship, including, and I would argue, especially, the doctor-patient relationship, is built on a foundation of trust.
What can you promise your patients that will begin to build that trust?
What level of service will you commit to provide that is above and beyond what they have come to expect from a medical office?
I recommend that you take some time to really think about your “Patient Promise” and put it in writing. Keep it simple yet powerful. And then share it throughout your office. Engage your staff in the process and instill this promise into your office culture. Every single person who interacts with a patient must live and breathe it everyday.
Most importantly, deliver on that promise. We all know there is nothing worse than an empty or broken promise. In fact, it can often do irreparable harm to a relationship. Do what you say you will do and maybe even occasionally, surprise someone and go above and beyond. That is how you make relationships last in this world. And that is the core of successful marketing. Is it easy? No. Is it effective? Absolutely.
